Meet Anina

Anina Rubio (she/her) is a multidisciplinary visual artist and environmental advocate living in Manila, Philippines. She is focused on creating works that depict nature’s beauty to inspire others to promote sustainability and conservation. An environmental advocate, she teaches K-12 students to help bridge the gap between art and sustainability.

Anina is passionate about using her work to highlight the culture and flora of the Philippines and is seeking to reintroduce folklore to younger generations. Her Artist Development Fund project (inspired by the Beliefs and Rituals Adobe Stock creative brief) focuses on storytelling within art. She was also inspired by the Healing Reflections creative brief to help raise awareness on the existence and conservation of local flora and their relationship to wellness. She says, “As a conservation advocate and as an artist, I feel that it's really important to highlight flora that are underrated but beautiful, and at the same time help raise awareness on species that are threatened.”
