“My project focuses on the importance of women doing the activities they love and that make them feel good about themselves and their bodies. I aim to use bright colors and an overall positive theme to encourage every woman, no matter her shape, skin color, or disability, to love who they are.”
Meet Holly
Holly McCann (she/her) is a freelance illustrator from Brighton, England. She has a degree in graphic design and has been drawing since she can remember. Her illustrations mainly focus on fashion, body positivity, inclusivity, and relationships.
Holly’s recent work was based on her own survey of young women, asking what they did when they felt their self-esteem was low. Based on their responses, she created illustrations showing sports, baking, visiting friends, dancing, and other uplifting activities. Originally designed for skateboard decks, her art also works great as standalone digital illustrations. Seeking to build on this optimistic theme for her Adobe Stock Artist Development Fund project, Holly took inspiration from the Celebration of Self creative brief. Holly says, “My project focuses on the importance of women doing the activities they love and that make them feel good about themselves and their bodies. I aim to use bright colors and an overall positive theme to encourage every woman, no matter her shape, skin color, or disability, to love who they are.”
