Meet Tiago

Tiago Dias (he/him) is a freelance filmmaker born and based in Lisbon, Portugal. He enjoys commercial work but prefers creating documentaries and music videos and aspires to do cinema and feature films as well. After completing his five-year university degree in cinema and video, Tiago has worked for 22 years as a cinematographer, and has received an AIP award for his work on his 35mm short film, “Poker.”

Tiago understands that being a successful cinematographer is not only about creating beautiful images, but in having and sharing a distinct point of view. For his Adobe Stock Artist Development Fund project, Tiago intends to focus on living and thriving with diabetes. “As a person with diabetes who has only recently begun to talk about it, I have a very emotional connection to the subject,” he says. “I realize that living with diabetes is not the worst possible thing that can happen, yet there are times when I still struggle to act normal. I haven’t had the opportunity to normalize diabetes, and my Adobe project will provide a great opportunity, as I transition from hiding my health issues to being open about them.”
