“I am particularly excited about bringing joy and fun to activism by creating artworks that give everyone visibility and a voice to the causes that I’m passionate about, from climate activism to continuing to promote the achievements and power of underrepresented women.”
Meet Rachael
Rachael Presky (she/her) is a commercial artist and illustrator from England. Her work is continually evolving, and has become a joyful celebration of different people and cultures. Her background as a semi-professional freestyle skier has hugely influenced her recent images, which focus on the brilliance of women in sports. Rachael is regularly featured on the Adobe Live UK streams, and she has developed murals, advertising, packaging, and editorial projects for a variety of top global brands. In a recent project for the Vans “Wear On” campaign, her vivid illustrations showcased clothing and shoes, while transforming donated skateboards into works of art.
Throughout Rachael’s life, she has had more than 75 operations to treat recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP), a rare disease which causes benign tumours on her vocal cords. She was only able to project her voice as a whisper until the age of 14, and she believes this influences her wish to give every person a voice in her work. Rachael’s Adobe Stock Artist Development Fund project was inspired by the Circles of Activism creative brief. She says, “I am particularly excited about bringing joy and fun to activism by creating artworks that give everyone visibility and a voice to the causes that I’m passionate about, from climate activism to continuing to promote the achievements and power of underrepresented women.”
